this is our last night here. . . oh, I wish we could stay longer but that's a good reason to come back again! Your place is amazing, beautiful and very, very cozy. Our little boy is mesmerized by the gecko collection on the wall. The weather has been dramatic --- we had plenty of rain and plenty of sunshine. we have been swimming at least 3 times a day, trying to get to as many beaches as possible. THANK YOU for the opportunity to stay at your beautiful house, we so much enjoy the house, the view, the roosters, the ocean, even the rain is enjoyable !!! Kauai is the best island of all, here is such a peace, calmness and serenity. . .
Jo and family, Sunnyvale, CA, August 2010
I want to let you know how absolutely wonderful your home is!!! We loved every moment of staying there and complimented your decorating, the wonderful bedding, great kitchen, fabulous herb garden (we did enjoy using some of your basil) and of course the fabulous views on a daily basis. We also greatly appreciated the ability to check in early and depart later than normal. For sure we will look forward to returning to Hanalei Bay Villa 25. Again, Mahalo nui loa.
Bobbie and family, Oahu HI, July 2010
Just a quick note to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay at your Princeville retreat. It felt very much like home, and we could sense (somehow) your subtle touches that show how much you must love the place. The secure internet connection was very much appreciated and helped us plan and keep on top of our scheduled activities on Kauai. We hope that you hang on to this place. We want to get back.
Ralph and Jan, Boulder, CO, July 2010
We had a simply wonderful time at HBV #25. It is a magical place - we cannot wait to return.
Tim and family, San Fran, CA, March 2010
In early January, I went to Hawaii for the first time since 1978. I stayed on Kauai, at Hanalei Bay Villa 25, for the first couple weeks, then took a cruise from Honolulu to visit the four major Hawaiian Islands. The cruise only reinforced my feeling that Kauai is the most enchanting of the islands, and I especially loved Kauai's north shore. HBV 25 made the time there even more special; it felt like home from the moment I crossed the threshhold: comfortable, clean, well-equipped, well-maintained, and with lots of personal touches. I also love to cook and was delighted with the herb garden in the back yard. To get acquainted with Kauai, I made full use of the wide selection of guidebooks and other books about the island which the owners have put at the disposal of the guests. They also have a guest book in which former visitors have recorded comments and suggestions, and many of those were useful too. The roosters provide wake-up calls in the morning, birds sing all day long, the ocean is clearly visible from the front door, toasting the sunset was our late afternoon ritual on the bluff across the street, and no matter where you are on Kauai, the mountains are there, too, even from the back lanai of the villa. It was the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of Kauai! I can't wait to go back.
Amadora from MD, March 2010
A week in paradise-- what can we say. The weather was perfect and your place was perfect-- great views, comfortable, all the conveniences. We love your new kitchen. Thank you!
the St. Louis group, Jan, 2010
Thank you for another wonderful stay. We look forward to our next visit. Your house provides such wonderful and warm accomodations.
Jack and Jennifer, Alexandria, VA, November, 2009
Thank you guys very much for renting your beautifulplace to us. We really don't wanna leave, although we are very excited to come back! The view from the back is amazing, and the ocean view from the front door is breathtaking. I enjoyed sitting on the lanai and taking in the outstanding scenery. Thanks again for the great hospitality.
TC, Phoenix, AZ, Oct. 2009
We can't thank you enough for sharing your beautiful home. We travel a lot and Hanalei Bay Villa 25 has been by far the most comfortable place we have ever stayed. We enjoyed just sitting on the patio and taking in the outstanding scenery. We look forward to coming back next summer and staying much longer.
Terri and Tanner, Phoenix, AZ, Sep. 2009
What a wonderful place to stay! Hanalei Bay Villa 25 is so breezy and bright-windows all around-- comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated. Lots of personal touches. We cooked our own dinners most of the time. The kitchen had everything we needed, and there was even an herb garden in the backyard which we used often. It's so nice to stay in a house as opposed to the typical condo. We'll be back for sure.
Beth and Bruce, Minneapolis, MN, August 2009
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! We had such an amazing honeymoon. Hanalei Bay Villa #25 had everything we needed and more. We loved every minute of our stay and will most definitely be back.
Love, Julie and Jared, Hamden, CT, August 2009
Thank you so much, Kathy and Bob. We absolutely enjoyed staying at the villa. The view is amazing and the bed is so comfy. We didn't spend much time indoor but we enjoyed everything at the house. Hard to say bye to this beautiful place but we'll be back.
Yinuo and Roman, Houston, TX, August 2009
What a wonderful holiday! Thank you, Kathy, for all your friendly and helpful emails before we decided to stay here. We really wanted to make sure the location and accommodation were perfect and we found it here-MAHALO! We appreciated all the attention to detail, especially loved the old, classical movies to enjoy in the evenings with a glass of wine. #1: "South Pacific". We've already decided to return, hopefully soon, to Hanalei Bay Villa 25.
Helen and Sayiori, Tokyo, Japan, August 2009
I have had an amazing and unforgettable experience during my stay at Hanalei Bay Villa 25. It is so easy to feel comfortably at home here. Thank you.
Suzanne, Laguna Beach, CA, July 2009
What a great 2 weeks we had at Hanalei Bay Villa 25!! Having the villa was fantastic-- having the whole house to ourselves and a grill to cook on, and so many other conveniences, like snorkel equipment. Thanks so much!
Patty and Jeff, Dartmouth, Mass., May 2009
Thanks so much for sharing your lovely home and island with us. We spent the beginning of our vacation at the Hyatt in Poipu which paled in comparison to Hanalei Bay Villa 25. We look forward to returning.
Joel & Allison, Cleveland, OH, April 2009
Thank you for such a well appointed villa. We had a wonderful time in your lovely home! We loved the sunsets on your lookout and waking to those crazy roosters. Hanalei Bay Villa 25 made our wonderful Kauai vacation easy. Mahalo!
Keith, Cindy, Nikki, & Ally, Westminster, Colorado, March-April 2009
Kathy and Bob, Thanks for a fantastic home base from which to explore the north shore. Hanalei Bay Villa 25 was so well stocked we couldn't believe it-- from Hawaiian CD's to a fabulous DVD collection, and a very complete selection of books about Kauai. We could not have asked for more...
Ale and Andy, Campbell, California, March 2009
You have an absolutely beautiful place. We visit Hawaii every year (Pali Ke Kua last year) and we think Hanalei Bay Villa 25 is best place yet. We hope to come back around this time next year. Your place has everything anyone needs and makes one feel right at home.
Tom and Doug, Kelowna, B.C., Canada, Jan. 2009
What lovely, comfortable, and spotless accommodations! With the bonus of both ocean and mountain views! Your interior décor is so fitting and tasteful, while outside, nature offers colorful feasts for the eyes. Our sincere thanks for providing such a beautiful, comfortable home for us to enjoy… we will always remember the beauty of Kauai, the scenic location of your villa.
Ellen et al from Kearney, Nebraska, Jan. 2009
Had a wonderful time; weather was perfect! We've been coming to Kauai for about 10 years and Hanalei Bay Villa 25 is by far our favorite. Walking distance to 3 wonderful beaches, we hardly used our car! Sunsets across the street were romantic. We loved your grill… cooked the best filet mignon on it.
Deborah, Sean and Francesca, Pleasant Hill, CA, Nov-Dec 2008
To say we had a wonderful time on our honeymoon in Hanalei Bay Villa 25 would be a vast understatement. Thank you for providing everything necessary to enjoy this magnificent vacation, one that we will surely never forget. …This was by far the best vacation we've taken, and a wonderful way to extend the joy & love after our wedding day. We would come back in a heartbeat.
Howie and Jen, Los Angeles, Nov 2008
We had a special visit again to Hawaii, and sharing your home in Kauai made it even more beautiful. Of the several places that we have rented in Hawaii as well as those on the mainland, Hanalei Bay Villa 25 is at the top of our list. All the "extras" made it perfect for us. We utilized your DVD, book collection and three-ringed binder to enhance our visit. Loved all the guide books and especially the geology book. And also a special thanks for all the snorkel and beach stuff on lower level. We especially liked the use of the outdoor grill. With the restaurant and lounge at the Bay Resort closed as well as the Princeville Hotel, the grill was used nearly nightly. We really would like to return to the area again in the future and rent from you.
Mel and Sally, Denver, CO, Nov. 2008
Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us. My husband & I had a wonderful time & your house was perfect! It was so bright, cheery, and comfortable. We really appreciate all of the amenities you provided (esp. the beach chairs, snorkeling gear, & boogie boards), it made our stay that much nicer. And it was such a treat to be in such a comfortable home …it was really hard to leave your house! Thank you again for providing us so much information prior to our arrival. I was a little paranoid about booking something blindly off the internet but it worked out better than we could have hoped for! Thank you so much for being so accommodating. We really hope to return again sometime in the next couple of years. We look forward to the opportunity to stay at Hanalei Bay Villa 25 again, it really was perfect.
Jennifer, Aspen, CO, Oct. 2008
This place was perfect! We loved looking out the front door and seeing the blue ocean. Almost every evening we walked across the street to watch the sunset over the ocean, with the Bali Hai in clear view. The guide books say this is one of the best sunset views on the island and they're right. We enjoyed eating meals on the upper lanai-at breakfast enjoying the mountain views and listening to birds, and at dinner turning on the rope light along the lanai railing for low lighting. We love to cook, and the kitchen had all the equipment we needed, including an electric grill on the lanai, and even a small herb garden in the back yard. The place is bright and airy and furnished very comfortably. You can tell the owners take pride in making sure guests are comfortable. The place offered a lot of little extras -like beach chairs, snorkel equipment, boogie boards, flat screen HDTV, DVD library, free wi-fi internet-- that when put together made it a super place to stay. The lower lanai is tiled and has a basket swing which we enjoyed using. What a charming place and great vacation. We'll definitely be staying at Hanalei Bay Villa 25 again! Aloha!
Gene and Enrique, Washington, DC, Sept. 2008
We've been to the Hawaiian Islands 11 times in the past 12 years. We've stayed at the Grand Wailei and the Hilton Hawaiian Village as well as other condos. Hanalei Bay Villa 25 has now become our favorite. You are really thoughtful in the way you keep your home for all your patrons to enjoy!! Thank you. We will be back.
The Reynolds, Issaquag, WA, August 2008
We love this gorgeous home! Thank you, Kathy and Bob, for thinking of everything to make us cozy, comfy and happy! We have visited North Shore Kauai several times, but never stayed anywhere that felt so good. This is the best vacation we ever had!
Diana and Bob, Aptos, CA, July 2008
Everything about the house was exceptionally good and exceeded our expectations (which were high given all the great information and photos on your web site). We considered changing the locks and not leaving! It was VERY clean upon arrival. It was our first trip to Hawaii but we all fell in love with it and hope to get back again. If so, we would not hesitate to rent Hanalei Bay Villa 25 again. In fact, for Kauai we would not even look elsewhere if your house was available. We loved the d‚cor, the location, and it had absolutely everything we could imagine.
Peter and family, Cold Spring, NY, July 2008
We had an amazing honeymoon here in Kauai! The house is beautiful; it was exactly what we needed and well beyond our expectations! There are so many fabulous activities to do here! We snorkeled at Hideaways Beach, watched the sunset at Princeville, ate fresh ahi at the Dolphon, witnessed dolphons playing at Kalihiwai, and so much more! We can't wait to come back and relive these memories!
Jenifer and David, Tucson, AZ, June 2008
This accomodation is filled with a lot of various things, A lot of lovely fishes, a lot of high-sense furnitures, a lot of sunshine, a lot of birds singing, a lot of breath taking views, and a lot of our family's smile. Everything made us happy!!
Takao and family, Tokyo, Japan, June 2008
I don't think there's a word in the English language that adequately describes this place. We were on sensory overload from the moment we arrived. Hanalei Bay Villa 25 is so incredibly beautiful and comfortable, and couldn't be more perfectly situated with the ocean view out the front and the mountains out the back. We enjoyed all the sights, sounds (yes, even those pesky roosters), the aromas - everything was so exotic and peaceful. We had a great time exploring all the points of interest on a drive around the island, and the snorkeling was better than we had experienced on the Great Barrier Reef of Australia. We especially enjoyed the kayaking - it worked out great to rent the kayaks around 4 pm one day, play around in Hanalai Bay and then beach them on the beach near the Princeville Hotel. The morning kayaking was phenomenal - especially when we rode the wave in at the entrance to the river. The highlight of each day was sharing the sunsets with other guests and residents right out on the overlook across from the house. What a unique social event. Your place is so well outfitted - we didn't need anything that you hadn't thought to provide. Thank you so much for sharing this island paradise with us. We will definitely be coming back.
Susan and George, St. Louis, MO, June 2008
We had a wonderful time in Kauai, and Hanalei Bay Villa 25 was just perfect for us, with all the comforts of home. We love the view of the ocean from the front door, and the trees and mountains in the back. We hope to return someday.
Alice and Sean, Portland, OR, Jan. 2007
We truly enjoyed our stay in your beautiful home. The scenery is breathtaking and truly a world of its own. The beaches around the island are all amazing, especially for swimming and snorkeling, which we love to do! We hope to come back to Kauai one day. Paradise is truly on earth. Thanks for sharing yours with us!
Luc and Louis, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, December 2007
Thank you ever so much for sharing your home with us. We truly felt at home here from the first moment. Everything was comfortable and you thought of all the important extras (beach mats, laundry, etc.) Waking up to the roosters, the sound of morning rain, was wonderful! We will miss the geckos, our evening friends! The beauty of this area is unmatched. The Waimea Canyon, Kalalau Valley, Kalalau Trail are pure natural beauty. We enjoyed Glass Beach (sea glass lover's heaven) and Twisted Metal on the south shore. Snorkeling at Tunnels was breathtaking-shallow clear water with fish everywhere. Shave ice at Paradise Shave Ice in Hanalei, Papaya Natural Foods in Hanalei, Blossoming Lotus vegan restaurant in Kapa'a were our favorite food stops. I Hope with all my heart that we can return! Thank you again.
Sarah and Elmer, San Rafael, CA, November 2007
Once again we say thank you for sharing your home. We truly enjoyed all the new things in the house-the bed, TV, stove, dishwasher. The weather cooperated with us this October, so we had some wonderful beach days. Thanks for letting us "come home" once more.
Betty and Ted, Austin, TX, October 2007
Thank you sooo much for allowing us to honeymoon in your villa! We had an awesome week in Kauai. The scenery was unbelievable. We went horseback riding, ziplining, kayaking, snorkeling, hiking, etc. Our favorite was the Zipline tour. We hope to make it back to Kauai in the future. Thanks for everything!
Dan and Miranda, Oviedo, FL, Sept. 2007
Hanalei Bay Villa 25 was great, all the room we needed. Felt like home. Views from the lanai are spectacular. Thank you for sharing with us!
Sam and Luanne, Aliso Viejo, CA, August 2007
What a wonderful time we have had in this lovely home. Everything we needed was here. We hate to leave, but hopefully we'll be back. Mahalo and Aloha!
Kevin, Jack, Teri, Calabasas, CA, August 2007
Thank you for sharing Hanalei Bay Villa 25 with our family. Don't change anything. Kauai is a paradise from the beaches to the rain forest. The sea life at Ke'e beach to Hanalei Bay, Poipu, Lydgate and Salt Pond we great for our 8-year-old grandson. The rain every night was quite a treat being from So. California.
Tradio, Alina, and Peter, San Gabriel, CA, August 2007
What an AMAZING time we had in Kauai!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would add more exclamation points, but I think you get the picture. Kauai beyond exceeded our expectations -- the beauty, the activities, the beaches....it was all so wonderful. Our stay on Kauai was made all the more special because of our lodging at Hanalei Bay Villa 25. The location on Kauai's incredible north shore is stunning and SO convenient. We hiked, swam, snorkeled, relaxed, shopped....we will definitely, for sure, totally be back. The friends we traveled with have also been to Hawaii, Maui, and Oahu, and they told us that Kauai is hands-down their favorite island they've visited, and that it's the most beautiful one they've visited, too. We can't WAIT to return!!! We loved your place, it was just perfect for our needs, and the location was ideal. Aside from a day trip to Waimea Canyon, we never left the North Shore (not really seeing any need to after that...). I also wanted to mention -- in case someone (like I did!) asks you about it -- that we found the best shopping for authentic, non-cheesy souvenirs was in the shopping center in Kilauea; and, surprisingly, in the lobby of the Princeville Hotel where a different local craftsmen per night sells his or her products. We toured Na Aina Kai botanical gardens -- a 2.5 hour guided tour that was really fun and very informative. The gardens were beautiful, too, I would definitely recommend them. The whole experience was a big hit, and THEY have a really wonderful gift shop, too.
MacRae from Alexandria, VA, August 2007
Kathy, we had a great stay in Kauai and really enjoyed Hanalei Bay Villa 25 . We recommend Na Pali coast hikes, sunset at Princeville beach and at the Living Room bar at the Princeville Hotel, snorkel at Tunnels beach and Hideaways, and boogie boarding at Kalihiwai beach. Enjoyed the Waimea Canyon lookouts, the local seafood. It was all wonderful. We are already looking forward to our next trip!
Paul from San Mateo, CA, June 2007
We just returned from 10 days in your place and loved it. Thanks so much for all the extras-- the guidebooks, snorkel equipment, binoculars, grill, plus tips and your suggestions made our stay so much better.
Comments: Best snorkeling--Hideaways and Tunnels. Great windsurfing lessons at Anini Beach. Ke'e beach--too crowded. Prince golf course good but overpriced. Great hikes at Ke'e Beach/Na Pali Coast and at the end of paved road in Waimea Canyon at lookout. We rented Kayaks and did the Hanalei river, my husband and oldest went on out into the bay and had fun with that.
Restaurants: Kalypso Restaurant is still good, Coconuts (in Kapa'a) is very good as is Hanalei Gourmet and Princeville Resort living room (bar) for appetizers, drinks, and sunsets. Hanalei Dolphin is overpriced based on food and service.. so is Bali Hai. Smith's luau is OK-- I understand that it's best on the island. Sunsets are wonderful. Spa at Princeville nice-- great fitness center.
Bill, Debbie, Christy and Allison, Carrolton, GA, June 2007
After planning a wedding for almost two years, a honeymoon on Kauai was just what we needed. What a fantastic location! We loved Hideaways Beach and Hanalei Bay. The Na Pali coast was breathtaking as was Waimea Canyon. The villa provided everything we needed. The sunsets across the street were magnificent-- they made our friends and family at home so jealous!
Heather and Jared, Boston, MA, June 2007
We had the most fabulous time here and will be coming back next year for sure. We hiked the trail 2 miles in at Ke'e Beach (end of road). It was a tough hike but beautiful. We loved Anini Beach. We ate at the Hanalei Cafe at the Princeville Hotel, Post Cards in Hanalei, CJ's in the shopping center, and restaurant in Hanalei Bay Resort. All were fabulous. This is such a beautiful spot and home. We felt right at home and loved the bed and other furnishings. Appreciated the thoughtfulness of the owners with all the amenities we could want or need at Hanalei Bay Villa 25. Most of all the beauty of Kauai and on vacation with my wonderful husband has been the best!
Lynn and Jack, May 2007
I just spent a wonderful week in your Beautiful Hanalei Bay Villa 25 . Your house was very comfortable and and well equipped, meeting our every need for a perfect vacation. I look forward to returning next year with a longer stay. Thank-you for sharing your beautiful home.
Cindy, May 2007 Thank you for your kindness and helpful advice. We couldn't have asked for a better honeymoon on our first trip to the islands. We loved Hanalei Bay Villa 25 . We stayed 4 sunny days in Poipu before heading north and experiencing morning tropical rains. We definitely could stay here forever. For future guests, check out the Polynesian Cafe for fantastic fish, and consider a Na Pali coast tour out of Port Allen.
Janelle and Brian, Tucson AZ, April 2007
Kathy and Bob, you have a beautiful house. Thanks for alowing us to be your guest at Hanalei Bay Villa 25 .
We awoke this morning to the sweet smells and sounds of a tropical rainstorm-- a grand way to enjoy my birthday. Love the lush vibrant and rustic feel of Hanalei. Our expectations were exceeded regarding the villa, from the panoramic views tot he lookout across the street. Love the spacious and airy floorplan as well. A relaxing retreat indeed.
Jonathan, Nicole, Kiarra and Kody, from Arcata CA, Feb. 07
This was the ideal vacation for "getting away from it all." There was plenty to do if we felt energetic, and high quality loafing if we didn't. We enjoyed the snorkling, kayaking, and hiking. The beaches were beautiful, each with a different look and personality, from the elegant Princeville Hotel beach with all it facilities to the more remote ones, which we had all to ourselves. The whale-watching was great, and the rainbows wonderful. The tourism literature and written information you provided allowed us to enjoy Hanalei the way the locals do--we knew where everything was, how to get there, and how to do it.

Hanalei Bay Villa 25 was really special, with its spacious living area, efficient layout, and attractive decor. It's obvious you have invested a lot of "pride of ownership" in it, and it felt like home rather than a hotel or rental unit. And the view isn't bad, with the blue Pacific in the front and a vibrant green jungle and mountains from the rear deck.

We have traveled the world over the past four decades, and although it was all interesting, there are only a few places we would return to at any opportunity: Italy, Greece, Thailand, South Africa, and now we're adding Kauai. We'll be back!

Bill & Lou Ann, Saint Helena, CA, February 2007
This is a wonderful place-- our second time staying here. We have been all over the Hawaiian Islands and the Kauai north shore is the best. We love the natural beauty, the lushness, the weather, the beaches, everything. Hanalei Bay Villa 25 is perfect-- felt like our home. We especially enjoyed our sunset routine across the street and walking to our favorite beach, Hideaways. The house is convent to the Hanalei Dolphin fish market, tennis, groceries, etc. A truely wonderful vacation at a time when we needed it most. Now it's back to winter in DC. Mahalo!
Ed and Kathleen, Washington, D.C., December 2006
We have been here for 8 nights and it has been a wonderful vacation. The sights and views are gorgeous. The waterfall and ocean views from the villa were beautiful. Hanalei Bay Villa 25 was great. Thanks for sharing. This has been our second honeymoon, which we will never forget.
Pamela and David, California, MD, November 2006
Your place is beautiful and well furnished. There are so many potential activities on Kauai and not enough time. Thank you so much for sharing your great place.
Becki and Jesse Havard, Highland, MD, September 2006
This was our first trip to Hawaii and it certainly won't be our last. I cannot imagine a more beautiful place! Hanalei Bay Villa 25 is lovely with an incredible view from every window. We really appreciated our thoughtfulness in seeing to every need that might arise. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing this lovely place with us.
Lucy and David, Napa, CA, September 2006
This was our first trip to Kauai and we loved every minute of it. The villa felt like our home away from home and we were sorry we had to leave. The highlights of our trip were many. We are looking forward to a return trip and hope to stay at the villa again. Mahalo!
Jess and Nick, Columbus, OH, September 2006
The views from the villa and around the island were breathtaking! We had a wonderful time visiting a different beach every day-- so fortunate to have such beautiful weather. It was nice to come back to such a comfortable place after our long days. Thank you.
The Smiths from Boston, MA, June-July 2006
This was truly a memorable trip. Every morning awakening to the sound of roosters crowing, or the gentle beat of rain, every day somewhere new to travel to, every evening a sunset across the street. The location of the house couldn't be better. In one direction the Princeville Hotel and Hanalei Bay and all the opportunities it offers (kayaking, snorkeling, beaches, boats, surfing) and in the other a secluded beach around every turn... all of this behind the backdrop of mountains brimming with waterfalls. Relaxation comes whether you want it or not. I especially enjoyed the perfect cycles of tropical weather, and eating the exotic fruits, vegetables and seafood, all of this while in the company of beloved friends and family.
Mahalo!
Westley from Stillwater, OK, May 2006
Words fail to express the love and joy this island holds. Who would expect a free meditation lesson by a passerby on the road? This is our fourth stay on Kauai and each time it changes my outlook on life. I am very grateful to Kathy and Bob for sharing this wonderful home with us. It's all good! We will be back.
Aloha!
Deborah and Gary from Severna Park, MD, March-April 2006
What a wonderful time we've had here! After looking forward to this month in Kauai throughout most of 2005, we found it and HBV #25 not only met but exceeded our expectations. Some favorite places - Kilauea National Wildlife Refuge, Waimea Canyon, Koke'e State Park, Hanalei Bay, and everything between here and the end of the road at Ke'e. Some favorite things to do-- whale watching, bird watching (especially albatross nesting), snorkeling, slack key guitar concerts, farmers' markets, and sunsets across the street, at Barking Sands, and at Ke'e Beach. Visiting relatives were enchanted by Kauai and delighted--as we have been--at what a lovely place HBV#25 is, with its beautiful setting and all the comforts of home. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!
David and Shauna from Washington, DC, January-February 2006
A week at this lovely villa was hardly enough! we spent much of our time snorkeling down at Hideaways Beach, the turtles and seals awesome to swim with! Matt enjoys surfing the Bay, especially Waicoco's. We loved cooking in the well-equipped kitchen each day. We really appreciated all of your terrific books on Kauai. We hope to come and stay again.
Kristin and Mathew from Santa Cruz, CA, December 2005-January 2006
What a week of activity! We started it snorkeling at Ke'e Beach. Best snorkeling spot so far. Princeville Resort snorkeling too shallow; Poipu Beach very nice but the current was strong. The trek to the Waimea Canyon was well worth it. It IS the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific" complete with colors and texture to rival the other Grand Canyon. The Kilauea Lighthouse was an especially pleasant visit--birds, whales, views, information. The Guava Plantation out that way was also very relaxed and reasonably priced for souvenirs. Hanalei just begins to feel like home after a couple of visits especially the farmers' market. Kayaks out of Kayak Kauai were perfect-- an easy drift down to the bay, exciting through the waves, good paddle back. Best of all was coming home to HBV #25, fresh ahi, walu or sushi dinners, wandering across the street to take in the ocean, or sleeping to the sound of the surf.
Thank you, Kathy and Bob!
Joel and Eileen from Ukiah, CA, December 2005
Hanalei Bay Villa 25 has the best location ever-- short walk to the Princeville hotel, ocean. The purpose of our trip was a wedding held at Princeville. The place was perfect and the weather was fantastic-- sunsets, no rain, postcard setting! Thanks for the Hawaiian hospitality!
Steve, Patty, Delynn from Palo Alto, CA, November 2005
We had a wonderful week here and loved the villa-- amazing view of the waterfalls! For future visitors, here are some recommendations:
Kilauea Fish Market near the lighthouse - DELICIOUS! Also good: Zelo's in Hanalei
We had a great time kayaking at Hanalei and hiking at the far end of the road (Haena). And for divers, Seasport in Poipu was terrific. We loved diving with the giant sea turtles.
Thank you for sharing the villa with us, our week was over too fast!
Claire and Jason from Tucson, AZ, October 2005
We had a wonderful honeymoon here at Hanalei Bay Villas #25! We loved making this beautiful house our home for a week. The views from all the wonderful windows are just spectacular. We couldn't have picked a more beautiful place to celebrate the beginning of our new life than here in Kaua'i. The relaxing atmosphere was just what we needed. This place is just amazing. We're already hoping to return someday. Thank you for sharing this lovely place!
Tom and Sara from Silver Spring, MD, October 2005
We had a wonderful time in your little corner of paradise. Thanks so much for the early information, and for the many nice amenities of our temporary "home." HBV #25 has been a wonderful home, providing us all the comforts and amenities that made our stay so relaxing. I couldn't get enough of the view from the back and the evening sunsets across the street. The many nature-related activities were amazing, especially the Na Pali Coast trail, snorkeling everywhere, beautiful beaches (loved Anini where Daniel took windsurf lessons), and the unexpected beauty of Koke'e State Park. Can't forget the helicopter ride and Limahuli Gardens. Many thanks,
Paula and George and sons, August 2005
We had a wonderful time here. We were celebrating our honeymoon. What a wonderful place to do so! We did a lot of hiking - Kalalau Trail (Ke'e Beach area), Wiamea Canyon (start early and fill up your gas tank), Opaekaa Falls... The hike down to the base of the falls is unbelievable! You can find more info in "Kauai Revealed" (blue book). The food, sights, smells have all been great. We will definitely remember our trip.
Brandon and Marcee from St. Paul MN, July 2005
First time that the kids came to Kaua'i--they loved it! House was great. We ate in most of the time, saved many $$$. Spent lots of $$$ on activities but created priceless memories. Loved the inter-island helicopters--no doors, what a thrill! Zip and Dip at Princeville Ranch was a thumbs-up from everybody--I took hundreds of sunset photos from the overlook. Joined the library with 3-month visitor pass and was able to upload photos to jealous friends and family back home. House was great--thanks for the boogy boards (we added one) and snorkel gear. Beach towels, washer/dryer were wonderful. We'll be back!

First time on this wonderful island, fell in love! Great house. Best part of our vacation in Hawaii was being here...so relaxing. Loved the rooster alarm clock and your house felt like home to us. Hope to come back and hope everyone enjoys this place as much as we did. Aloha and Mahalo. Andy, Maisha, and Julia from Alexandria VA, June 2005
Love your place. My daughter and son-in-law brought me here for my 80th birthday--my first time to Kaua'i. Hope to come back on my 90th. Thanks for a lovely place to stay. Lou from California, June 2005
What a gorgeous, comfortable place and wonderful week! To say that we enjoyed our time here would be an under statement. It's tough to leave, but we'll be keeping some awesome memories.

Thank you for sharing your place with us. We were already in love with the island and your house has added a true home feel for us. Our days were filled with activities, and coming to HBV 25 was a very comfortable close to our days. We will be back in the near future. BTW, I now know how farmers were able to rise with the crack of dawn (roosters crowing).

We arrived in Princeville on Feb 7, 2005. We have been here 7 weeks and will leave on April 17th. We love the house. It's spacious, comfortable, and all the windows offer a 360 view. Sunset every evening across the street is spectacular. We loved the grill-- used it a lot. Best restaurant on the north shore--Sushi Blues. Best restaurant on the south shore--Casa di Amici. Our best friend is the resident rooster. A great 2 months.

Our stay in Hanalei Bay Villa 25 was stupendous! We enjoyed making this comfortable house our home Jan. 6-20, 2005. The view of the ocean from the front door and the mountains from the lanai were constant reminders that we were in one of the most beautiful places on earth, the north shore of Kauai, "in a land called Hanalei". A few steps from the front door took us to a bluff overlooking the ocean where we enjoyed spectacular sunsets and whale-watching. We loved the convenience of the short walk to the Princeville Hotel to buy a newspaper, take in a view of Hanalei Bay, eat an occasional gourmet meal, or enjoy the lovely sandy beach in front of the hotel which has some of the best snorkeling on the island. We enjoyed preparing meals in the well-equipped kitchen and appreciated the convenience of the electric grill on the lanai, which made it easy to savor the variety of fish available at the Hanalei Dolphin seafood market. We found the house conveniently furnished, nicely decorated, clean, bright, airy, and comfortable. We'll definitely be back!

This is our second trip to the island. We stayed most of December. Before Christmas we enjoyed a quiet town and lovely beach time in Hanalei, playing in the sand and surfing. During the holidays we appreciated the mainland crowds and happily spent our time mingling among them. On the 25th we cooked our turkey here and Santa visited our son (2 yrs old!). We hope to return… the island life is just what we need! Back to the cold we go.

I felt wonderful here in this place, a very good energy in this house. I hope and I know I will return to this place. Thank you for making it possible. Mahalo to everyone.

Once again we had such a wonderful stay in Kauai. The place feels like "home away from home" to us. The new tile floors are a beautiful addition! We enjoyed the weather, the beach,m the food, the whole slowed-down feel of the island. Thank you again for letting us share your space. We always hate to go.

Had a fantastic time! Spinner dolphins spotted off Queens Bath, superb snorkeling at Ke'e Beach, best kayaking down on the bay. Always ended the day with watching the sunset from across the street. Loved the view of the ocean out the front door. The kitchen had everything we needed. Hanalei Bay Villas 25 was perfect for us. We're sorry to leave.
